Chen Pi

Chen pi, also known as dried tangerine peel, is a commonly used traditional Chinese medicine and culinary ingredient. It is made by sun-drying tangerine peels and then aging them to allow the flavor and medicinal properties to develop.

In traditional Chinese medicine, chen pi is used to regulate qi (vital energy) and to treat various digestive disorders such as bloating, nausea, and vomiting. It is also used to alleviate coughs and chest congestion. In addition, it is believed to have antibacterial and anti-inflammatory properties.

Chen pi is a common ingredient in many Chinese dishes, particularly in soups and stews, where it is added to provide a tangy flavor and aroma. It can also be used to flavor tea and alcoholic beverages. In Western cuisine, chen pi is sometimes used as a substitute for orange zest.
